Clarence Hunter

Clarence was born and raised on the Flathead Indian Reservation. He considers himself a Jackknife Artist.

Clarence started carving and making miniature rifles and pistols using Herters Gun book in 1966. A lot of the guns he has carved have little scopes on them. In 1979 he was introduced to a master canoe and paddle carver. In time Clarence mastered his own style and added his own colors. Later in life he expanded his talent to painting rocks using ink drawings called ìHunters Humorî or ìHunters Imagination.î Clarence is also a collector of other people’s art work.
